Brandon Broadhead Receives Silver Barrel Award
While traveling between job sites in Farr West on Feb. 5, 2026, Brandon Broadhead, an Electronic Technical Specialist with UDOT Region One, witnessed a driver experiencing a medical emergency that led to a serious crash. Demonstrating remarkable composure and selflessness, he immediately rushed to assist, helping to safely position the individual who was suffering from a seizure. When the individual lost his pulse, Brandon performed lifesaving CPR, sustaining him until emergency responders arrived.
“This is an amazing feat and demonstrates his character, and going above and beyond his normal duties to help save a fellow human being,” wrote Region One Director, Rob Wight.
In recognition of his heroic actions, Brandon was presented with UDOT’s Silver Barrel Award, as his conduct exemplifies the highest standards of public service. His quick thinking and willingness to act beyond the call of duty reflect the very best of UDOT employees and bring great credit to UDOT and the State of Utah.
Congratulations, Brandon!
