“UDOT Career Stories” Lincoln Port
This month, “UDOT Career Stories” features Lincoln Port, a Project Manager in Region One. Lincoln began his journey as a transportation technician at the Bothwell Shed before moving into the Blue Stakes division. He later transitioned into Permits and then the Utilities Division, where he continued to develop his skills and gain experience on internal projects.
Today, Lincoln manages pavement preservation and other projects across the region. He enjoys seeing the impact of his work, especially traveling roads he once plowed and knowing they have been improved through projects he now manages. Lincoln credits mentors and programs like TEP for helping him develop skills, including reading plan sets, which he now uses daily.
“One of the reasons I wanted to come to UDOT was for the opportunity to move around and grow,” he said. “There’s always that opportunity to show yourself and others what you can do.”
