UDOT Policy Updates - March 2026
The following UDOT policies have been approved by UDOT’s Tech Team and Executive Director Carlos Braceras.

Policy 01-07 Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) establishes requirements for the authorized use and safe operation of unmanned aircraft systems, commonly called drones.
Policy 02-50 Subsistence and Travel Allowances establishes when UDOT provides subsistence and travel allowances in the rare event that UDOT temporarily changes an employee’s permanent work location.
Policy 02-51 Travel Policy for UDOT Employees establishes requirements governing official business travel by UDOT employees.
Policy 02-55 Group Gatherings, Conferences, and Training Sessions establishes requirements governing UDOT-sponsored conventions, conferences, and other group gatherings. A related policy, Policy 02-24 Conference Sponsorships, has been repealed.
Policy 02A-05 Indefinite Quantity Contracts authorizes and establishes requirements for UDOT’s use of indefinite quantity contracts on federal-aid highway projects. This policy also has related procedures.
Policy 03-01 Responsibilities of the Internal Audit Division describes the responsibilities of UDOT’s Internal Audit Division.
Policy 05-52 Transportation Technician Career Ladder describes the career ladder for UDOT transportation technicians in the transportation education program, including requirements for advancing through the program’s levels.
Policy 06C-16 Pedestrian Access Program describes UDOT’s pedestrian access program, including the department’s commitment to building and maintaining safe and accessible pedestrian facilities.
Policy 06E-01 Public Records Request Responsibilities – Utah GRAMA outlines UDOT’s responsibilities when responding to a records request under the state’s Government Records Access and Management Act (GRAMA). This policy also has related procedures.
