Zero Fatalities Safety Tip: Visual, Manual, and Cognitive Distractions

In alignment with Distracted Driving Month, it's important to recognize the different ways our attention can be compromised.

Distractions generally fall into three categories: 

• Visual - Taking your eyes off the road 

• Manual - Taking your hands off the wheel

• Cognitive - Taking your mind off of driving 

Activities like texting involve all three simultaneously, making them exceptionally dangerous. Remember that whatever texts you have to send can wait.
