Dec. 16 Research Presentation on UDOT Assets Data
UDOT’s Research & Innovation Division invites you to join them on Tuesday, December 16, from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. for a summary of their recent research on using a Computer Vision (CV)-based approach to derive data from existing UDOT assets.
Manual inspection has traditionally been the primary method of assessing the condition of transportation assets. However, this process is labor-intensive, costly, and requires significant human resources. CV-based techniques offer a more efficient approach, but there are still gaps in fully leveraging them for engineering applications.
This research aims to develop a framework for evaluating the performance of various CV algorithms in extracting useful insights from UDOT’s existing asset data. Findings and recommendations will be presented by Mohsen Zaker Esteghamati from Utah State University. The final report will be available soon.
Join them for a presentation on the 3rd floor of the Complex in the Copper conference room, or use this Google Meet link to attend virtually. Attendees will earn one professional development hour. The session will also be recorded and shared on the Research & Innovation web page.
UDOT’s Research & Innovation Division managed this project, which was selected through UDOT’s Research Prioritization Process (Annual Workshop/UTRAC).
