UDOT Awarded at 2026 UAPA Asphalt Conference

The Utah Asphalt Pavement Association (UAPA) recently held its annual Utah Asphalt Conference, bringing together industry leaders and public partners to focus on the future of asphalt pavements in Utah. UDOT Executive Director Carlos Braceras served as a keynote speaker, sharing insights on collaboration and long-term infrastructure quality.

At the conference, UDOT Region Preconstruction Engineer Scott Nussbaum accepted UAPA’s Friend of the Industry – Government Award, which recognizes the strong collaborative partnership between UDOT and the asphalt industry.

“The award acknowledges a unique relationship between industry and a department of transportation, which is pretty neat, and perhaps unparalleled nationally,” Scott said. “Extending trust and believing in one another drives us to hold ourselves and each other accountable and work as colleagues rather than adversaries.”
