Governor Cox Hosts Statewide Employee Town Hall
Governor Cox hosted a State of Utah Employee Town Hall on Wednesday, January 7, 2026. The virtual event gave employees the opportunity to hear directly from state leadership and ask questions in real time.
During the Q&A, Governor Cox and Lt. Gov. Deidre Henderson discussed several topics of interest to state employees, including:
State employee leave considerations
Ongoing efforts to address affordable housing
Plans to protect and restore the Great Salt Lake
Transportation planning and infrastructure investments for the 2034 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games
Updates following the conclusion of the Sundance Film Festival
Employee recognition, training, and development opportunities
The Governor also gave a special shout-out to UDOT for its leadership in transportation planning, infrastructure and project delivery, specifically highlighting the department’s role in preparing Utah for the 2034 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games. Way to go, UDOT!
Employees may also watch the State of the State address on Thursday, January 22, at 6:30 p.m., where Governor Cox will share the administration’s priorities and vision for the months ahead.
