On April 16, 2026, at 10:15 am, UDOT will join over half a million Utahns in the Annual Great Utah ShakeOut earthquake drill.  UDOT will be registering our 1,700 employees to participate in the drill. You are welcome to register yourself and your family.

2.  Evacuate buildings: Evacuations will occur at the following locations:

• All Region Headquarters (Region Four includes Price & Cedar City)

• Traffic Operations Center (TOC) 

• Calvin Rampton Complex (Central Lab & Warehouse, Equipment & Operations buildings)

• Aeronautics hangar at Salt Lake City Airport

(Any building not listed here is encouraged to participate in the evacuation exercise!)

3.  Accountability Check (both steps need to be practiced)

• All staff complete the Employee Accountability Form (a link will be emailed after evacuation)

• Managers conduct a phone tree check-in and report staff status up the chain of command. (If you sign a timecard, then you should be checking on that person.)

4. Assigned Missions Begin:

• Building Missions: Select facilities have prepared simulations of damage to respond to 

• Field Missions: Select maintenance stations from each region will conduct structure assessments in coordination with the Structures Division using EmergencyX app 

5. Employees begin Self Preparedness

• All staff will receive QR codes for preparedness activities (Don't Wait, Start Now)

  • Checklist of essential items
