On March 23, 1909, the State Road Commission of Utah was created to care for a small network of mostly dirt and gravel roads. Today, 117 years later, that effort has grown into the Utah Department of Transportation—an organization known for innovation and a strong commitment to keeping Utah moving safely and efficiently.
