SheTech Explorer Day is a hands-on tech conference for high school girls designed to spark interest in STEM through interactive workshops and real-world challenges. Girls explore fields like transportation, robotics, coding, digital media, and health sciences while engaging with industry mentors and female role models.

UDOT’s Shaunna Burbidge, Suyanka Neupaney and Lynne Yocom hosted interactive workshops featuring fiber optics, a transportation scavenger hunt and Zero Fatalities outreach. One activity challenged students to become “Crash Detectives,” using real crash narratives and data to piece together what happened and why—helping build safety awareness while showing how transportation data can inform safer decisions.
