Utah Selected to Participate in New FAA Pilot Program

The future has arrived, and it’s here in Utah! The FAA recently chose UDOT as one of eight projects nationwide for its Electric Vertical Takeoff and Landing (eVTOL) Integration Pilot Program, named uFLY.

In the uFLY program, Utah will lead a partnership with Oregon, Idaho, Arizona and Oklahoma, along with industry partners and research institutions, to explore how advanced electric aircraft can safely operate in the national airspace. These efforts will help reduce traffic congestion and improve air quality while getting supplies, equipment, and people where they need to go in faster, more efficient ways.
