Wellbeing Wednesday - Are You Getting A Good Night’s Sleep?
Daylight Saving Time is in full swing this year, and you may have felt the side effects this week. Even losing one hour of sleep can have adverse effects on your mood and rhythm such as increased fatigue, reduced concentration, moodiness, and higher stress levels. It’s fitting that the National Sleep Foundation (NSF) announced this week as Sleep Awareness Week to equip you with tips and resources to get the best sleep possible.
The NSF established Sleep Awareness Week in 1998 to educate Americans on the importance of good sleep health. Each year, they release their Sleep in America poll, which helps people better understand key attitudes, behaviors, and experiences with sleep health. Topics ranging from aging, to exercise, to pain, to incorporating healthy sleep behaviors into daily living contribute to getting a good night’s sleep, and contribute to more productive awake hours as well.
Visit the NSF’s website to learn more about Sleep Awareness Week and to browse resources to help you be your best slept self.
