Edit Goals in Vantage Today to Meet May 31 Deadline For 2027 Performance Plan
This is the last week to edit, approve, and acknowledge your performance goals in Vantage.
After meeting with your supervisor, have them edit your two job-related goals.
By having the supervisor edit the goals, they can submit the goals as approved. If the employee edits the goals, there is an extra step of the supervisor approving the goals.
Employees will receive an email notification once their supervisor has edited their goals. While employees are encouraged to review these goals, it is not required.
Where do I find the goals to edit?
You have been assigned tasks in Vantage under the “Performance & Internal Career” tile. The three goals assigned are consistent with UDOT’s Employee Development and Performance Management policy, with one behavioral goal and two job-related goals. While the content of the behavioral goal does not need to be edited, the two job-related goals should be edited with a new goal title and additional description. Because edited goals require supervisor approval, we recommend that you draft goals with your supervisor together using the 2026-2027 UDOT Employee Development and Performance Discussion Tool. You can then have your supervisor copy and paste agreed-upon goals into Vantage.
What requirements do I need to remember?
There are a few important steps to keep in mind while using Vantage:
Any change in goals must be approved by the supervisor before employees see the updated goal in Vantage. Until the supervisor approves the changes, employees will continue to see the original goal. This is why we suggest the supervisor copy and paste agreed-upon goals from the Discussion Tool into Vantage. You will save an approval step and the employee still has the opportunity to review and acknowledge the goals in the “Self Review” step.
The primary three goal titles must start with 1., 2., and 3. so that UDOT’s tracking systems can detect the right goals.
Dates for each goal must be within the performance year, starting May 1, 2026 through April 30, 2027.
Where can I learn more about UDOT’s performance management process?
Training is assigned in the Learning Portal to review the performance management process and walk through the steps of using Vantage. The Performance Management page of the Grow the Good site also has useful resources.
