Public Employee Appreciation Leave
Did you know that the first full week of May is observed throughout the United States as Public Service Recognition Week? Well, the Governor’s office knows it, and to show gratitude for all the incredible work you do, they’ve announced that eligible employees will receive 2 hours of administrative leave once again this year!
Here are some things you need to consider before you take this leave:
Only employees receiving leave (annual and sick) benefits are eligible for this administrative leave
Eligible employees should use the “OA” code to document the administrative leave on their time sheets (Please use the Activity code 7G36)
Any leave requested by an employee must be approved by their supervisor
This leave will expire on July 2, 2026
Speaking on behalf of the Governor, Jon Pierpont said “We are so grateful and proud of you. There is no better state workforce in the country than ours!”
Please reach out to Lindsay Kibler (lskibler@utah.gov) if you have questions or concerns.
