UDOT Employees Build Skills and Connections at Richfield Leadership Institute
More than 45 UDOT employees gathered in Richfield for the 2026 Leadership Institute, a three-day experience focused on strengthening leadership skills, building connections, and investing in UDOT’s future leaders. Designed specifically for UDOT employees, the program combined virtual learning, hands-on activities, and meaningful discussions centered on topics like employee needs, strengths-based teamwork, and the Five Conversations framework.
Leading up to the event, participants completed four virtual pre-work sessions that introduced key concepts and encouraged leaders to think about how to apply them in their daily work. Once in Richfield, employees put those lessons into action through interactive activities, team challenges, and the development of personalized Leadership Action Plans.
The event also featured opportunities for participants to hear directly from UDOT Senior Leaders, take part in the popular derby car challenge, and engage in a Q&A session with Executive Director Carlos Braceras about the future of the department.
Thank you to everyone who helped organize and support this year’s Leadership Institute, and to all the participants for their willingness to learn, grow, and lead at UDOT.
