UDOT’s Shaunna Burbidge Speaks at Driver’s Ed Conference
Dr. Shaunna Burbidge, our Statewide Behavioral Safety Program Manager, presented at the annual meeting of the Utah Driver and Transportation Safety Education Association (UDTSEA). She provided a deep dive into the 5 deadly roadway behaviors and how Driver's Education instructors can more effectively teach students about these unsafe behaviors and the risks they pose.
In a second session, Shaunna provided detailed information on the new e-bike law taking effect May 6th. Driver's Ed instructors are on the front lines, communicating transportation safety to parents and students. Shaunna provided an overview of the new legislation and its requirements and answered critical questions about how this may impact families moving forward.
This was a great opportunity to remind these community safety advocates of the resources and support that the Zero Fatalities program can provide.
